Today, we talked about fashion in this week's class.
I really want to know what do you think Japanese girls (or boys) fashion. Our teacher said Japanese girls fashion sometimes looks like prostitute, and I was really shocked to hear that.
Also, I'd appriciate if you tell me popular American fashion and popular fashion brand.

I don't think Japanese girls look like prostitutes! American fashion is very relaxed and free. American Eagle, Abercrombie and Fitch, and Hollister are very popular American brands. Girls like to wear jeans and Ugg boots too.. do you have them in Japan? They are from Australia. I think Japanese fashion is very cool but it is a bit too wild for everyday Americans to wear. Gwen Stefani, the singer, really seems to like Japanese fashion a lot, and you can see lots of Japanese fashion and culture in her music videos and songs. Also, on America's Next Top Model, a popular TV show here, the models went to Japan and had to do a fashion shoot in Tokyo, and they also had to perform a Tea Ceremony in front of Japanese judges. I don't think the American girls did very well.. it was a bit embarassing for America!
wow, i agree with brianna, i don't think japanese girls fashion looks like a prostitutes! i've always thought of japanese fashion as very stylish and eclectic. as for american (university) fashion, most girls wear jeans, ugg boots, t-shirts and north face jackets. some also wear leggings. generally, i think american high-school and university fashion is quite bland and not very creative. some popular brands are abercrombie and fitch, gap, the north face, and coach.
