thanksgiving

On Thursday we had Thanksgiving. I returned to my hometown to see my family since we have a few days off from classes.
A lot of people have huge dinners with a lot of people, mostly family. My family usually just has a small, relaxed dinner. Everyone eats turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and pumpkin or apple pie.
Thanksgiving, I think, is considered to be a holiday centered around eating and family. The day after Thanksgiving is called "black Friday". On black Friday women go out Christmas shopping and the men watch football games on TV.

In Japan, I think we don't do special things. Some people don't eat dinner with their family in thanksgiving day, so I was surprised a little and envy it because you can eat various foods.
