Hi! Today, we discussed 'FOOD' in the English class.
I know you know some Japanese food, for example Sushi, Tempura and so on.
2 years before, An Ausutralian student visited my home to do homestay, and at that time,
she really loved Onigiri( triangled shape rice ball). She always maked triangle shape with her hands to explain onigiri... it was interesting!
Anyway, do you like Japanese food or if you like it, what's your favorite one?
Also, please tell me American traditional food because I don't know what exactly American food it is.
By the way, I'm really into ice cream and my favorite shop is Cold Storn Creamary(is the spelling correct?) from America!! Cold Storn are in Japan, too but they're far from my house, so I don't have any chances to eat in this shop so much... I'm sad...
Talk to you soon!

hi~
i love Japanese food! sometimes my mother cooks Japanese food but since i am away at university i can't eat it. my favorites dishes are yakisoba, yakitori, okonomiyaki, and natto.
some 'traditionally' American foods are hamburgers, hot dogs, fried chicken, clam chowder, etc.
i absolutely love ice cream, it is my favorite food! we have a Cold Stone Creamery near MSU's campus... my friends and I go there all the time (even in winter) ^^
I love Cold Stone Creamery. I like to go on my birthday because they give coupons for free ice cream. :)
What is considered traditional American foods usually depends on what part of the country you are visiting. In the south there are foods like gumbo and chili. In the northeast, seafood dishes with lobster and clams are popular. Biscuits and gravy are big in the midwest. Then there's also food that is popular in certain cities. New York and San Francisco both have popular types of cheesecake. Chicago has deep dish pizza. Coney Island is the home of the hotdog and is famous for chili dogs.
I think the biggest part of what makes food traditional, is the group of people who settled the area.
